Thank You, Jon Stewart

I contemplated a long list of things to say regarding the semi-retirement (from anchoring, anyway) of an icon.  They all fell short, but then, I think everyone already knows.

People speak of great newsmen and (rightly so) think of names like Walter Cronkite, Peter Jennings, and Dan Rather.  And yet, I think my generation will soon begin to add (though many of us have already) the name, Jon Stewart.

The Daily Show, a comedy show masquerading as a news show, turned into the voice of a generation.  It become the source for so many for their news.  Even in this age of the Internet, we still tuned in.

Thank you, Jon Stewart.  Thank you to your cast and crew, to all those who put on such an amazing show.  And here’s to hoping things are just getting started.
